The International Teqball Federation (FITEQ) is the global governing body for Teqball, an emerging sport that combines elements of football, table tennis, and skill-based competition. As the sport continued its international expansion, Bangkok was selected as a key host city for one of the sport’s flagship events.
To maximise global visibility, attract international media attention, and expand awareness beyond traditional sporting audiences, FITEQ engaged Foundeast to lead international public relations and influencer engagement activities surrounding the tournament.
As a rapidly growing sport, Teqball faced the challenge of competing for attention within an increasingly crowded international sports media environment.
FITEQ needed to generate significant international media coverage, attract journalists from major global outlets, create compelling stories around the event, and leverage influencer partnerships to increase awareness among both sports fans and broader audiences.
Success would be measured not only by attendance and competition results, but by the event’s ability to generate global visibility and position Teqball as one of the world’s fastest-growing sports.
Foundeast developed and executed an integrated international communications strategy focused on media relations, press event management, athlete storytelling, influencer engagement, and global news generation.
The objective was to create sustained visibility before, during, and after the event while ensuring coverage reached audiences across Asia, Europe, the Americas, and beyond.
Foundeast conducted extensive international media outreach to sports, news, lifestyle, and business publications worldwide.
Our team developed media materials, coordinated interviews, managed journalist relationships, and created opportunities for global coverage throughout the event.
We organised and managed multiple press conferences designed to maximise media participation and facilitate access to athletes, organisers, and special guests.
Foundeast developed influencer activations and content opportunities designed to extend the event’s reach across digital and social platforms.
We identified compelling narratives around athletes, competition, and the growth of Teqball to create media-friendly stories that resonated with international audiences.
The campaign combined earned media, social content, influencer participation, and event coverage to generate awareness across multiple channels simultaneously.
More than 200 international media organisations attended press conferences and/or covered the event, generating substantial global visibility for Teqball.
Coverage appeared across major international and regional media outlets including Reuters, Xinhua, ESPN, Bangkok Post, The Standard, Thai Rath, MONO, Siam Sport, Agence France-Presse (AFP), Daily News, The Thaiger, and numerous other publications and broadcasters.
Foundeast also organised influencer matches and social media activations featuring sports personalities and creators, including football legend Ronaldinho, helping extend the tournament’s reach far beyond traditional sports audiences.
The campaign successfully elevated awareness of Teqball internationally while positioning Bangkok as a major destination for world-class sporting events.
Emerging sports depend on visibility to attract athletes, fans, sponsors, federations, and future host cities.
By combining international media relations with influencer engagement and celebrity participation, Foundeast helped transform a sporting tournament into a global media event—generating worldwide coverage, social engagement, and increased awareness for one of the world’s fastest-growing sports.
Foundeast booked sports influencers and rapidly secured local and international media attention for the World Teqball Championships in Bangkok.
